Celebrate the chills and thrills of Halloween at Sci-Quest’s Spooktacular Science event, where creepy chemistry and mysterious science combine to provide a hauntingly good time for the entire family. Spooktacular Science is a two day event on Friday, Oct. 26 and Saturday, Oct. 27.
This year guests can look forward to a variety of spooky activities, thrilling demonstrations and meet some furry special guests. Halloween activity stations will be set-up throughout the Science Center and Sci-Quest’s own mad scientists will put on a live mysterious chemistry show with bubbling potions, wicked brews, and spectacular fire displays. Dress up in your favorite Halloween outfit and enter the kids’ or adult costume contest for some cool prizes, including tickets to the Nashville Zoo, Parents’ Night Out passes and much more. The adult costume contest will take place on Oct. 27 and the kids’ costume contest will be both nights.
The Birds of Prey from the Coosa River Science School will be the special guests on Oct. 26 and will include an array of different owls and birds. Guests will learn amazing facts and history about these incredible birds which will make for an unforgettable night. On Oct. 27, get a behind-the-scenes look into the world of special effects. Discover how to create the popular monster make-up illusions using special effects.
“We have a lot of fun with Spooktacular Science, because we get to mix exciting science experiments with spooky fun for the entire family,” said Angela Giles, director of education.
Spooktacular Science will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, and from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27. Admission is $9 in advance and $10 at the door for each day.
