Madison police officer attacked by dog in routine call
Madison Police responded to a domestic violence call on Westscott Drive on Sunday morning.
When police arrived on the scene to investigate a possible shooting, a dog charged an officer and jumped on him. The officer shot the dog once.
The dog was taken to a vet to be treated, and expects to make a full recovery.
The domestic violence issue is still under investigation. Both parties involved had weapons. No arrests have been made.
