Madison Police nab suspect after three-county high-speed chase

Madison police nabbed a man who led law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase through three counties that started in Rogersville.

Around 1:45 Friday morning, Rogersville Police made a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Tahoe.

When officers approached the vehicle, the driver said his brother had been shot, and he was taking him to the hospital.

When the officer went to look for the victim, the driver took off.

The Limestone County Sheriffs, along with Athens/Limestone Ambulance joined in the chase.  They flew through Athens doing over 90 miles per hour.

They then entered Madison, turned onto Wall Triana Boulevard, and down several side streets.

The driver finally ditched the SUV behind the Paradise Apartments near the intersection of Wall Triana and Gooch Lane, where authorities took him into custody.

After the arrest, the vehicle driven by the suspect was reported stolen out of Huntsville.

Darrell Thomas, 20, of Harvest was charged with: Attempting to Elude Police, Reckless Endangerment and Receiving Stolen Property. He is being held at the Madison County Jail with a $7,000 bond.
