Madison police catch juveniles who escaped from detention facility

Madison Police apprehended the two escapees from the Three Springs facility Wednesday morning.

Police said they captured the boys just before 7 a.m. in the 200 block of Production Avenue in Madison.

Madison Police said two 16-year-old black males escaped from the Three Springs facility on Brownsferry Road just before 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

One subject is from Russellville. He was charged with harassment and assault. The second subject is from Eutah and is charged with probation violation for robbery.

Madison Police said they tracked the escapees to an area near Liberty Middle School, but the trail went cold.

Late Tuesday afternoon, Police said two eyewitnesses saw the teens enter the woods off of Grove Park Lane and Grove Village Way, which is a neighborhood that is still being developed. They said the two were still wearing the tan pants and blue shirts.

Madison Police, the Alabama Department of Corrections, and a state issued helicopter were all involved in the search.
