Madison man caught red handed in Hartselle

Hartselle police arrested a Madison man Tuesday and charged him with third-degree burglary.

Lt. Justin Barley said Mark Anthony Stacey, 46, of 13252 Burgreen Road, was arrested at a home in the 1700 block of Nance Ford Road.

Officers transported him to Morgan County Jail, where records showed he was released on $2,500 bond.

The homeowner was at work when a neighbor called to tell him about Stacey’s white van parked at the back of his residence.

The homeowner called authorities, and when officers arrived on the scene, Stacey was coming out of the home with property in his arms, Barley said in a written statement.

The suspect allegedly forced his way into the home through a window, according to the release.
