MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WAAY) – A Madison County man is looking for his 14-year-old granddaughter, but he isn’t doing it alone.

Bikers Urban Response Needed, or BURN, is teaming up with Jonathan Shewell in an effort to find 9th grader Haile Stephens. Stephens went missing October 4th near the Dairy Queen on U.S. 72 and Nance Road in Madison.

Shewell believes Stephens is staying with a friend’s grandparents nearby, but still doesn’t know exactly where she is. Even though Stephens isn’t abducted, he is still very concerned for her safety.

“It sounds like a fun thing for a child, but I don’t believe the grandparents who are keeping her there have any clue as to why this is actually happening.”

BURN Southeast Vice President Johnny Baughn is helping in the search efforts, and he hopes their organization’s resources will help lead them to Stephens’ whereabouts.

“We’re going to go out posting in the neighborhoods in the area where she was last seen, and the businesses in the area.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Stephens, you are asked to call the Madison County Sheriff’s Office at (256) 722-7181.
