Healing Touch Massage opens in Madison

There is no doubt that life can be stressful. The economy is still lagging, the kids are home for summer and eating you out of house and home, there is never enough time to get caught up at work…and so on and so on. With all of this, who couldn’t use a relaxing massage?

Healing Touch Massage, located at 1634 Slaughter Road in Madison, not only offers massages to relieve the stressful tension of life, but can improve your body’s overall health.

Stephanie Muecke has been a licensed massage therapist who has been in the health and fitness industry for the past 5 years.

“I have a deep passion and interest in people and their overall well-being,” Muecke said. “I focus on encouraging clients to improve and maintain their health by being aware of themselves as a whole, mind and body.  I encourage exercise, diet, and preventative health care, such as massage, for people to maintain their health so they can live longer, healthier, and happier lives.”

Healing Touch Massage offers a variety of modalities such as Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Hot Stone Massage, and Pregnancy Massage to the Madison and Huntsville area.

Muecke specializes in prenatal massage, especially after her own experiences with being pregnant.

“During my pregnancy, I starting having debilitating sciatic nerve pain. It was so bad; I couldn’t stay in one position longer than a few minutes without excruciating pain, and would literally fall to the ground when I put pressure on my legs after lying down for extended periods of time,” Muecke said. “I finally broke down and started getting massages. They would instantly make me feel better and I could actually have a day pain free.”

Muecke also said that experts estimate that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress-related. And perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress. Massage is an effective tool for managing this stress.

Massage can also help specifically address a number of health issues, such as: alleviate low-back pain and improve range of motion, assist with shorter, easier labor for expectant mothers and shorten maternity hospital stays, ease medication dependence, enhance immunity by stimulating lymph flow—the body’s natural defense system, exercise and stretch weak, tight, or atrophied muscles, help athletes of any level prepare for, and recover from, strenuous workouts, improve the condition of the body’s largest organ—the skin, increase joint flexibility, lessen depression and anxiety, promote tissue regeneration, reducing scar tissue and stretch marks, pump oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs, improving circulation, reduce postsurgery adhesions and swelling, reduce spasms and cramping, relax and soften injured, tired, and overused muscles, release endorphins—amino acids that work as the body’s natural painkiller and relieve migraine pain.

“I love the opportunities I am presented with in this career. I love that I am able to help people feel better and improve their health. I love that I offer a

product that is a “feel good” experience and provides relief from so many ailments,” Muecke said.
