The winning streak the Bob Jones boys were enjoying was brought to a sudden end on Saturday when they played Vestavia Hills (Birmingham area). The final score was 8-1.

After a tight game with Grissom on May 1, the Patriots were looking at a chance at the championship. They just had to defeat Vestavia Hills, play another round of playoffs against Oak Mountain, and then proceed to the final championship game for 6A State Champions.

Brent DeSilva is the goalkeeper for Bob Jones and he made ten saves throughout the game on Saturday. Brent DeSilva recently signed a scholarship to play soccer at UAHuntsville.

Ryan Miller scored the goal for Bob Jones.

Bob Jones might have been knocked out of the playoffs, but they still had a record season. They finished with a record of 12-2-0 in Section 8 and 19-7-0 overall.
